Jordon and Joe putting together a cluster of fire. Keep watching!
The future roommates posing with their fun toys before placing in the mortars.
Rich thinking he is SOOOOO funny by pretending to light the 12''.
Pete, the photographer, cuddling with "Big Boom"
The cluster takes shape. This was quite a production of boards and nails... and .... precision engineering.
Here they are. OK guys, try not to put your faces over the mortars. Thanks.
It turned out to be two really cool shots of fire! |
|
Here we go again! | |
The line. Bet you turned your head!
Bet you did it again! | |
THIS TIME the only thing that is electronic is the finale' and the big shells. NOT going to risk it on the 4th!
Jordon and Rich working to put a rope up to hold a fan. It was really hot. Next year we are bringing the air conditioner if we are at GC again.
The tent is strong enough! Quik Kamp ROCKS!
|
|
There we go with the fan!
Jordon prepping the harness for the 8'' going over the side.
Autumn taking a break from watching all of the wildlife.
We took off and swam for a bit since we had everything done and when we came back, Dale was there to meet us. He said he had been trying to get a hold of us since there was a severe thunderstorm warning for the next few hours.
Sure enough, we looked up and could see the fun coming!
Here is where we KNEW rain was coming. AND it was coming fast!
We watched the wall of water as it came across the lake surface.
Autumn looking on. | |
We foiled just in time. | |
Here it comes! | |
YIKES! Lightning and thunder and HAIL! Guys and gals STAY IN THE TRUCK!
They didn't listen. BUT did a great job with the foil. EXCEPT we didn't tuck in the fuses and ended up short fusing them to get them to fire. OOOOPS!
The group crowed around the shell we are going to lower. Wrapped up and protected!
Down it goes. | |
Even further... everyone always thinks that something went wrong even though it is a planned event. It is really funny! |
